Firefighting

Our helicopters are always ready for a rapid response.

Response support

An effective tool against forest fires

A changing climate has led to more frequent and more extensive forest fires. In these situations the helicopter plays a decisive role – as a fast, flexible and effective tool in the rescue service's work.

Our helicopter is equipped with a Bambi Bucket and can carry up to 1,000 litres of water per lift, enabling powerful and precise suppression. When a fire breaks out, contact is quickly established between the rescue service and our standby crew. Essential information is shared immediately – the fire's position, extent, contact persons and safety conditions.

The helicopter lifts off from base immediately with the fire bucket attached under the fuselage. After coordination with the rescue commander, the suppression work begins. Water is drawn from nearby lakes and released with high precision over the fire – a fast and effective complement to ground operations.

Versatile resource

Many roles – one and the same resource

Our helicopters are more than tools for water bombing. They are flexible, versatile resources that can serve in many parts of a rescue operation:

Material and equipment transport

Fast, efficient relocation of materials, hoses, pumps and other critical equipment to hard-to-reach areas.

Personnel transport

Safe and rapid transport of rescue personnel to and from the operational area, even where ground routes are missing or blocked.

Technical support and documentation

The helicopter can also be used for surveillance, filming and other technical support that strengthens coordination, analysis and follow-up of the response.

Fire surveying

To give the incident commander a good overview during an ongoing rescue operation, we help with aerial fire surveying.

Prescribed conservation burns

During planned nature conservation burns we provide a helicopter on standby, ready to move in with water bombing should the fire spread beyond the intended area.

Our helicopter acts as an integrated part of the work carried out by the rescue services and the County Administrative Board – a reliable and effective partner when every minute counts.
